Sports Friends Ethiopia Summer Camp 2019

By Tim Coleman | Ethiopia in East Africa

Every year, Sports Friends hosts summer camps across the world. It's a great opportunity for the local staff and coaches who work with young people and their families all year round to spend more intentional time together with the young people.

Camp is also a wonderful chance for the global church to support the ministry. Visiting teams can bring extra energy, love and encouragement to the staff and young people.

This video of the 2019 camp in Ethiopia shows the huge impact on the young people, staff, coaches and visiting teams. No one left the same. This is what the Sports Friends staff and visiting team members said about camp this year...

"I've hosted youth camps where I am from in the US, but I've never been to camp like this before. It has been an overwhelming experience for me and my children," said Ben, a visting team first-timer.

"Camp has inspired me to be more bold in my faith," said Ellie, a young visiting team first-timer.

"I return each year because not only do I have brothers and sisters in Christ, but I have made real friendships," said Clay, who returns each year as part of a visiting team.

"Children could not imagine how foreigners would be interested in them and love them. The campers are loved by the staff and visiting teams and this love changes them permanently," said Yigerem, Sports Friends Ethiopia Staff.

If you have a heart for Jesus and the youth, if your church is looking to connect with the global church in making disciples, then you are so welcome to come and support the ongoing Sports Friends work at one of the future summer camps.
