- Cavango village clinic outreach
This ministry is an outreach in partnership with the UIEA mission hospital of Cavango, to provide primary care to the remote areas of a country which has more than 40 languages and a large rural population. We are targeting rural people groups who lack access to medical care and the good news of Jesus’ love for them. - Outreach to marginalised in the Cavango region
In partnership with the UIEA mission hospital of Cavango, we seek to provide primary care to the communities of the region. The ministry also endeavours to provide spiritual and physical health education at the clinic, community-based healthcare and health education, and spread the gospel through oral Bible storying and the Jesus film. - Nyaneka Outreach
This ministry provides translation of educational theological literature into the Nyaneka language, creating booklets and other appropriate material. It also equips leaders with Farming God’s Way principles and supports church planters. - Outreach to marginalised patients
In partnership with CEML and the Rio da Huila Medical Centre, we serve the local community through high-quality medical care and teaching, which is how we reach impoverished and marginalised people with Christ-like compassion. In doing so, we strive to use the skills and talents of our staff to demonstrate the love of Christ to every person. - Equipping missional Angolan church leaders
In partnership with the Union of Evangelical Churches of Angola (UIEA), this ministry helps equip the leadership of Christian denominations and churches in evangelism and discipleship. This is done through the Angolan Discipleship programme, in collaboration with ASDM and in partnership with the local seminary, ISTEL, to provide teachers and scholarships. - Equipping healthcare staff
In partnership with CEML and Rio da Huila Medical Centre, we provide continuing education opportunities for healthcare staff to encourage missional disciples and increase worker competence. We also facilitate chaplaincy training and help to provide skilled staff.
Spiritual Landscape in Angola
Christianity is the dominant religion in Angola, with around 80 per cent of the population identifying as Christian. Among them, Roman Catholicism has traditionally been the most prominent, followed by a significant number of Protestants. Protestant denominations include Baptists, Methodists, Pentecostals and Evangelicals, with Pentecostalism seeing particularly significant growth in recent decades.
Despite the strong Christian presence, indigenous African religions continue to be practised by a portion of the population. These religions are often animistic, with a belief in spirits, ancestors and nature’s spiritual forces. It’s estimated that around 10-20 per cent of Angolans still follow these traditional beliefs, often blending them with Christian practices. Indigenous African spiritual practices remains a notable trend, especially in rural and remote areas.
Islam is a minor religion in Angola, with a small Muslim population that is primarily made up of recent migrants or descendants of historical trade routes. The Muslim population is less than one per cent of the total population but we are seeing growth.
