Opportunities to Serve

We partner with the church to teach in centres of theological education, and provide programmes such as TEE (Theological Education by Extension). We also empower students to participate in these programmes. Could you serve as a teacher in one of these ministries?

We work alongside local churches and organisations, to support their ministries of evangelism, church planting, discipleship/leadership training, biblical training, social action. We need people with a wide range of gifts who can work with these churches to reach the rural Quechua people with the good news of Jesus.

We long to see a Christ-centred, contextualised church planted among an influential, but gospel-resistant people group in West Africa. Working in partnership with local believers, a small team is already involved in outreach activities and establishing a rural discipleship and agriculture training centre. A key strategy is to support and nurture new believers, many of whom face persecution. A variety of practical and word-based opportunities exist to disciple and train new believers for Christian life and service.

The mission of Sahel Academy is to develop students through a holistic education of the highest quality, while nurturing a Christ-like character and a heart of service. We are looking for a new director, a new high school principal and teachers willing to serve short-term or long-term. Each staff member contributes to this strategy not only by nurturing and discipling students, but also by enabling many mission families to continue their work among unreached people groups in Niger and neighbouring West African countries. Staff members also have opportunities to share the gospel with students who are not believers.

We want to see all Moors glorifying the true and living God. We intend to achieve this by being witnesses for Christ as we live and work among them as their friends, sharing our skills and talents in transforming their lives for good. A small team is already in place, involved in business, Bible translation, literacy and radio evangelism. A key strategy is equipping and working alongside an established national church. A variety of opportunities exist to express the truth and compassion of Jesus Christ to this unreached people group.

By faith, we see our local churches growing and equipped for mission in our region and beyond. Help us disciple and train believers to participate in cross-cultural mission, to overcome language and religious barriers, and to share Christ with neighbours from the majority religion. You could serve alongside local believers in university, youth or children’s ministry; mentor Christian leaders and businesspeople as they seek to follow Christ in their context; or join with our audio ministry in producing Christian teaching. We also invite you to serve and equip church members in the community through small business training, teacher training and community health services. Learning French and a local language allow you to engage effectively with the church community and one of the main unreached people groups in the area.

We envision motivating, encouraging, supporting and equipping the West African Church to play its primary role as nurturer and sender of workers. It will encourage and support the development of mission prayer movements in West Africa.

To cater for the major needs of mission workers like housing, medicals, travel etc.

The urban ministry team Northwest seeks to plant self-sustaining churches in a mega-city by December, 2025. The team also aims to plan new churches around the country by preparing more disciples. We'd love you to join the team and build up healthy congregations together!
