Spiritual Landscape in Korea
South Korea has a deeply rooted spiritual heritage, historically influenced by Buddhism and shamanism. In recent decades, Christianity has grown significantly, with about 20 per cent of the population now identifying as Christian.
Despite this growth, the Korean Church faces challenges. An ageing church population and declining youth attendance have raised urgent questions about the next generation. Early morning prayer remains a distinctive feature of Korean Christian practice, but revitalising youth engagement is a pressing need.
Please pray
- For meaningful connections that God will establish and for him to empower local churches through equipping programs
- For the SIM Mission School (SMS) and ‘Be n Go’ program to equip young individuals to experience transformation and engage in God’s mission, both locally and globally, effectively
- For migrants to encounter the life-changing message of the gospel and grow as devoted followers of Jesus as we minister to them
- For God’s blessings upon partner organisations serving Community B, so their ministries may bring fruit and joy to him and the people
- For SIM Korea’s social network platforms and website to be shared creatively and effectively, encouraging people to join in mission by praying, giving, or going
