SIM Côte d'Ivoire

SIM Côte d’Ivoire glorifies God by working in partnership with the body of Christ to make disciples of all nations and to equip them to transform society. We are looking for people to join our existing team.

Key Ministries

  • Radio Fréquence Vie
To transform and edify listeners by proclaiming the Good News of salvation while influencing the life of Ivorian society with Jesus’ message of love and peace.
  • Healthy people and mission
Leadership and services to help our workers be healthy and fruitful.
  • Leadership development and theological education.
  • Outreach to children
Ministries loving and caring for marginalised and vulnerable children in Abidjan.
  • The Fulani
We desire to see a team grow to make disciples amongst the Fulani in northern Côte d’Ivoire, to join our one worker currently ministering in this context.

Spiritual Landscape in Côte d’Ivoire

Côte d’Ivoire presents a diverse and intricate spiritual landscape, where various religious traditions coexist and influence the country’s social and spiritual fabric. Christianity and Islam are the two most widely practiced religions, but both are often blended with a universalist worldview and traditional animistic beliefs and rituals. Islam arrived via trade in the 13th century and is now deeply rooted, especially in the northern regions where it is the predominant faith. Catholicism was introduced by French colonists in the south, but Christianity gained significant traction with the arrival of Protestant Methodists in the 1920s and 30s, followed by other Protestant missions in the 1950s and 60s. Since the 1980s, a growing prophetic movement has emerged, focusing on healing, material prosperity, and worldly success. We pray that the increasing number of independent churches in Abidjan, the southern economic capital, will develop a greater heart for reaching the many unreached peoples and Muslim communities across the nation.

Communities Where Christ is Least Known

The Fulani

The Fulani, traditionally nomadic pastoralists, are strongly Muslim and largely unreached. The Fulani population in northern Côte d’Ivoire is growing rapidly as a result of terrorist activity in neighbouring countries. This instability is for many creating an openness of spirit to listen to the Gospel. This ministry needs your prayers to be effective. Please pray. We are also particularly looking for pioneer workers to establish and grow a team alongside our one current worker ministering to this community.

Please pray

  • For the growth & maturity of the Dioula (Jula) church established in past years.
  • For current Fulani ministry to be effective in making disciples of Jesus.
  • For pioneer missionaries to develop a team reaching the Fulani of northern Côte d’Ivoire.
  • For God’s leading to shape the direction and character of SIM Côte d’Ivoire.
  • For the raising up of new administrative team members that will be needed around 2027.
  • For the provision of an effective Director for the national Christian radio station, who can strategically help the gospel go forth by radio to unreached people groups.
  • For children & their families to be transformed to disciples of Jesus Christ through our street children and kids club ministries.
  • For wisdom and the Spirits leading and equipping as various members teach and preach. May they equip disciples of Christ to transform their societies.
