SIM Guinea

Our Guinea team is focussed on sharing the gospel with communities which have little or no Christian witness, using strategies that range from children’s ministry to social media campaigns.

Spiritual Landscape in Guinea

Guinea is a nation where the gospel has limited reach. The majority of the population are Muslim, and the call to prayer punctuates daily life. Animism also remains influential. Literacy is low, and access to the gospel is sparse in many places.

Still, there is remarkable openness to spiritual conversations and children’s ministries. Bible translation and audio resources are expanding gospel access, and one unreached people group has an established ministry presence, with a second just beginning.

Communities Where Christ is Least Known

Unreached ethnic groups in remote areas, Muslim-majority communities and villages still rooted in animist traditions. Many have never heard the gospel or met a Christian.

Please pray

  • For the Holy Spirit to prepare the Fulani to hear the gospel
  • For those seeking the truth to encounter Jesus followers, both Guineans and expatriates alike
  • For new SIM workers as they live among the Fulani, learn their language and culture, and share the good news of Jesus
  • For the children’s ministry team as they offer educational support and spiritual truth through after-school programmes and science camps for primary school children. Praise God for the increased numbers of children participating
  • For Guinean Christians seeking to grow the ministry to children. Praise God that some have started after-school clubs in their neighborhoods
  • For local Christian teachers and nurses assigned to villages. Pray for grace and strength as they teach large classes with limited resources
