Spiritual Landscape in Ghana
The population of Ghana is said to be around 70% Christian. However, a significant proportion of people who identify as Christians do so in name only and prosperity teaching is endemic. The strength of Islam is growing and what had previously been a strong religion of Northern Ghana, is now strong throughout Ghana with an estimated 20% of the population identifying as Muslim.
Please pray
- For Fulbe families, that God will continue to open door sto build friendships through caring relationships and discipling new believers. Pray for more opportunities for the Fulbe to come to know Jesus. Pray too for funds to address some of the immediate needs such as clean water.
- For children and young people, that they will come to know Jesus as Lord and Saviour and be discipled to maturity. Pray for Sports Friends coaches and trained children’s ministry leaders to be faithful in demonstrating God’s love to young people.
- For the ministry to vulnerable women, that the women will be enabled through the training they receive in business and farming. Praise God that they are beginning to share what they have learned by leading Bible studies with other women.
- For the Ghanaian church, that they will be mobilised for mission to the nations. Pray particularly for students that they will consider taking their skills – professional and business to places where the Gospel is no known.
