They come for the games, but they leave with something far greater. Across the world, Sports Friends camps are creating opportunities for young people to discover confidence, community, and the hope found in Jesus.
While millions tuned in to watch the World Cup Final last month, Sports Friends were celebrating something even more significant: the lasting impact Sports Friends camps are having on young people around the world. Through sport, friendships are formed, barriers are broken down, and lives are transformed as young people encounter Jesus.
At camp, young people don’t just play sport—they encounter Jesus. Through sports, games, small groups, and conversations with caring coaches, God’s Word comes alive.
Last month, we asked a few campers what they loved most about camp. One young person shared:
“Camp helped me learn the word of God deeper in a different way, especially learning spiritual lessons through games.”
For many young people, camp is a place where they experience biblical truths in a way that connects with their everyday lives. Through the friendships they form and the challenges they overcome, they grow in confidence, character, and faith.
Another camper shared:
“The experience at camp built my confidence and that has prepared me for the future.”
Many young people arrive at camp unsure of themselves, but leave with greater confidence, renewed hope, and a deeper understanding of God’s love.
And perhaps most exciting of all, hundreds of young people who did not know Christ have already made decisions to follow Him through their experience at camp.
“The experience at camp built my confidence and that has prepared me for the future.”
These stories remind us why camp matters. But many young people can only attend because someone chooses to sponsor them.
You can help send the next camper to camp.
A gift of any amount helps make these stories possible, giving more young people the opportunity to experience friendship, hope, and the transforming love of Jesus.
Thank you for helping make this possible.
Please pray
- That young people who attend Sports Friends camps would encounter Jesus and come to know His love, finding hope, purpose, and a deeper understanding of God’s Word.
- That coaches and camp leaders would have wisdom, compassion, and opportunities to build meaningful relationships with young people and share the gospel through sport.
- That God would provide the resources and sponsors needed for more young people to attend Sports Friends camps, so that many more lives can be impacted through these opportunities.
