SIM Kenya

By faith we see mature disciples raising up new disciples of Jesus among communities where He is least known, Christian leaders shaping Kenya with integrity and biblical truth, missional churches joining us to proclaim Christ with love and compassion, and Kenyan missionaries stepping into cross‑cultural ministry both locally and around the world.

Key Ministries

  • Evangelism and discipleship ministries (Somali, Borena, Digo and other general Muslim ministries)
  • Health Ministries, including Banda Health
  • Sports Friends
  • Diaspora Communities
  • Children and youth ministries
  • Mobilisation the Kenyan Church for Mission

Spiritual Landscape in Kenya

While more than 85 per cent of the population would identify as Christian, there is significant nominalism and a good deal of unbiblical teaching. There is a significant Muslim minority, plus adherents to Hinduism, Buddhism and some traditional religions.

Communities Where Christ is Least Known

Banda Health indirectly serves people who live in urban slums, informal settlements, and distant rural places by equipping the medical clinics and pharmacies in their neighborhoods with a clinic management software called BandaGo. These clinics are owned and run by clinical officers, nurses, lab technicians, and pharmacists. In many of these places, the small simple storefront clinic is the place they go to, it’s their lifeline, because most cannot afford the cost of transportation to a large hospital or the cost of seeing a medical doctor. And so the clinic carries more than medicine; it carries survival. Additionally, Banda’s impact extends beyond the clinic walls. Through partnerships, Banda is providing leadership training for pastors serving in these same communities, equipping them to navigate life as it’s faced in hardship environments.

Please pray

  • Banda – for partnerships to continue equipping Pastors in slums and rural villages with leadership training; For the clinics owned and run by Muslims and non-believers, that they will experience the love of Christ as they interact with the Banda team and Banda software and be transformed by the Holy Spirit to come to know Jesus
  • For the Kenyan church to be mobilized, equipped and ready to send out global workers.
  • For unity in vision and purpose as we faithfully make Christ known throughout Kenya.
  • For those working in the diaspora communities throughout Nairobi.
  • For the expansion of the Sports Friends ministry along the Kenyan coast, particularly as they move into areas of higher Muslim populations.
  • For SIM Kenya as we pray and search for entity director.
