SIM USA

Our US team partners with churches to equip and send mission workers to serve in communities with little or no witness to Jesus around the world.

Our US team is based just outside Charlotte, North Carolina, from where it partners with US churches to train and send mission workers to serve in communities with little or no witness to Jesus around the world.

Key Ministries

  • Mobilisation and Sending
By prayer, SIM USA recruits, prepares and journeys with Christians sent by their churches to make disciples of Jesus Christ where He is least known. This includes mentoring and supporting mission workers throughout their calling, from initial enquiry to long-term service.
  • Engagement and Learning
SIM USA seeks to inspire and equip the roughly 30 million Americans who read the Bible daily to engage in global missions. Through its website, simusa.org, SIM USA offers a learning centre with resources, stories and opportunities to get involved in God’s global mission, whether through going, giving, praying or mobilising others.

Spiritual Landscape in the US

The spiritual climate in the United States has seen notable shifts in recent decades. While Christianity remains the dominant faith, there has been a steady decline in religious affiliation, with a growing segment of the population identifying as “spiritual but not religious”. Church attendance has dropped, especially among younger generations, many of whom express scepticism toward organised religion.

Despite this trend, there is a simultaneous resurgence of interest in authentic Christian community, particularly among younger believers seeking meaningful connection and purpose. Many evangelical churches across the US are becoming more ethnically diverse and are engaging more intentionally in global mission and the Great Commission.

Communities Where Christ is Least Known

The gospel is least known among communities with large populations of immigrants, refugees and international students. Many of these individuals come from nations or people groups that are considered unreached or where access to the gospel is limited. These groups represent strategic and often overlooked mission fields within the US.

  • Pray for increased SIM partnerships and long-term mission workers from among African-American, Asian-American and Hispanic churches
  • Pray for the US Church to be mobilised to fulfil the Great Commission, both locally and globally
