We serve in several countries of Europe, either directly through SIM offices or in partnership with others who share our heart to make Jesus known where He is least known.

We serve in the countries listed below, and in some that are not shown here. If you’re interested in serving in any part of Europe, we’d love to hear from you.

Opportunities to serve in Europe

Church planting in Munich, the most neglected metropolitan city in Germany

GERMANY, EUROPE| 2+ years

Germany is the number one European country for Refugee and migrants, particularly in the Catholic city of Munich in the south, where about one quarter of the inhabitants (1.5 million people) are migrants. Arab people also come for hospital treatment or recreation. More workers are urgently needed! We want to see new international churches for the migrants in Munich and to support the already-running ministries. We have a lot of socially-oriented work, including homework help for schoolchildren, music lessons, creative art courses, food care for the poor, youth and children's work, and ministry to adults. All of these point people to Jesus. Evangelists are very much needed in Munich, as are people who can organise and coordinate teams of up to 30 volunteers.

Strasbourg Refugee and Migrant Ministry

FRANCE-BELGIUM, EUROPE| 0-3 months, 3-12 months, 1-2 years, 2+ years

Strasbourg Grand Central Station Church is a cross-mission agency ministry with a vision to reach Refugee and migrants in Strasbourg, to facilitate their integration in their new community, to restore their dignity, to help them discover the gospel, be restored in Christ, and sent on mission to their people and back into their countries of origin. We are looking for workers with a heart for the refugee and migrants, a willingness to learn the French language and to be involved in both spiritual care (evangelism and church-planting) and practical care in various areas such as French teacher, crafts, barista. Build relationships with the community by providing services such as teaching French to the migrants, doing crafts with them, or sharing a cup of coffee. Walk alongside them, and share the Gospel.

Mayotte ministries

FRANCE-BELGIUM, EUROPE| 0-3 months, 3-12 months, 1-2 years, 2+ years

Mayotte is a very unique region of France. The native population is close to 100 per cent Muslim and, while more than 70 per cent of the local people speak fluent French as a second language, the first languages are Shimaore and the lesser spoken Kibushi. Around 50 per cent of the population is made up of illegal immigrants from the Comoros, who are also Muslim. SIM workers use business and their professions to become accepted members of the community, build relationships and eventually share the gospel in private settings. For now, SIM's workers are focussing on the native population in the south of the main island. Could you use your business or professional skills to join this team?
