From nations to the nations

Getachew and Builanty are deeply discipling new believers from the Jumjum Tribe in South Sudan and even sending out new missionaries from those communities.

Marilla and Marina have incredible vision and heart to build a primary school from the ground up. They are taking their passions and teaching locals in the community.

Chris Crowder said: “A few years ago, I got an opportunity to speak at a missions college. After I spoke, having shared about the needs in South Sudan, and how we’re able to bear fruit for Jesus there and make disciples and preach the gospel. I gave a bit of an invitation. And twelve couples, husbands and wives, who were studying at this missionary college, stood up and said, ‘We’re willing to go.’

“This project, the Sudan Harvest Worker Project, helps to send people. It links people who are willing to go to the places where they can bear fruit. And where was this? It was in Ethiopia.”

Deane Valkenaar said: “There are very few projects that SIM has that ministers to so many people across so many lines.”

Chris said: “It impacts sending churches. It impacts missionaries who are called to go. It impacts the communities in South Sudan. And it impacts the SIM teams who are seeking to serve in South Sudan.”

Merina Beinopha said: “My sending church and Sudan Harvest Worker – it just forms one church.”

Getachew Tsegay said: “Our church, Ethiopian Kale Heywet Church has vision to send missionaries out of the country.”

Amie Cross said: “We’re partnering not just with the Harvest Worker, but with their local community and their local church to make an impact in South Sudan.”

Rev Salvador Parpa said: “For the church, we are also encouraging [them] not only to pray but to support financially. For this is our way of participating in fulfilling the Great Commission and reaching the lost there.”

Marilla Mendieta said: “It’s a wonderful privilege to be working with the Church here in South Sudan. I mean, I’m not talking about just individual churches but the whole church.”

Biulanty Thabah said: “The Harvest programme is helping us because I have the funding to come here, and that’s why I could come. I am blessed through them, and otherwise, without them, I couldn’t be here.”
