Located on the edge of the Sahara desert, Galmi Hospital has been providing compassionate medical care in Jesus' name for over 50 years.

But as Galmi's medical, training, and discipleship ministries have grown, the space has become cramped. And the sand, heat, and desert sun have left the building structurally unsafe in some areas.

In 2005, the hospital leadership team initiated a redevelopment project to address these issues.

The goals and objectives of this project are:

1. To provide a safe environment for both physical and spiritual care of the sick and their families.


2. To refurbish and upgrade the hospital's physical structure so that it can become a center of excellence in training and discipleship.

In addition to an overhaul of the existing structures, this project provides for new housekeeping and employee locker room facilities and a two-storey addition with a post-operative surgical ward, classrooms, and offices.
