Mohamane and Keejo, Fulani co-translators |
|
The Fulfude Translation and Literacy Project aims to establish and strengthen the Fulani church by translating the Bible into Fulfulde and by offering literacy programs to enable Fulani Christians to read the Bible in their own language.
This project began in 1995 and is focused on reaching the Fulani people of eastern Niger. Already almost half of the New Testament has been translated into Fulfulde in partnership with other Fulani translators.
The team is also preparing literacy materials to meet the need of the Fulani believers who desire to learn to read. Once these materials are produced and the Fulani church leaders are trained, they will be able to use them widely among the church.
Pray
- for the Fulani work as the Book of Matthew is tested and eventually printed.
- for translator Mohamane to be a wise elder in his church.
- for the children's club lead by project manager Jean Baumbach, where she teaches them the newly-translated Bible stories.
Give
You can have a part in this important work to strengthen the Fulani church in Eastern Niger. Your financial gift will provide:
