Radio ELWA Restoration (95107)

Radio station at ELWA (Eternal Love Winning Africa) in Monrovia, Liberia, burned to ashes the night of 8 November. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The station is currently broadcasting from its satellite site.

Please pray for the Liberian leaders and staff of the station—ELWA's executive director, Rev. Kedrick White, James Kesselly, and many others. Pray for wisdom to recover and move forward.

If you would like to give towards rebuilding the station, please contact your nearest SIM office or give online to project 95107. Thank you and God bless!

History

The ELWA Radio Station, founded in 1954, was completely destroyed in 1990 as a result of the Liberian civil war. The FM and shortwave broadcasts were relocated to the old ELWA Garage building, itself thoroughly looted in 1996. Nevertheless, resumption and expansion of FM, SW, and Liberian language broadcast was accomplished in the early 2000s. The civil war ended in 2003.
