Langano Health Program (92020)

The Langano Health Program in Ethiopia consists of curative health care and preventive health measures such as vaccinations, mother/child health, family planning, and community health programs. Because the Langano area is drought-prone, a nutrition program is in place to screen children under five for signs of malnutrition. Following this, SIM works with needy children and their families to bring them to a healthy state. At any given time, 75 to 100 malnourished children receive assistance.

This program also develops a network of local and foreign women who foster orphaned newborns. For a period of six to nine months, temporary foster care is offered to these infants until they are able to drink well from a sipper cup and eat table food. The two programs Babies' Nutritional Support and Foster Care open opportunities to share the gospel.
