On Saturday, 27 February 2010 at 3:34 a.m., an earthquake measuring 8.8 on the Richter scale struck just off the coast of Chile. Cities and towns such as the capital Santiago, Concepcion, Talca and Chillan have sustained substantial damage and loss of life.

This project is to raise funds for relief efforts which are initially being used for the provision of immediate physical needs (blankets, tents, food, medicine, community kitchens), and then later will provide counseling and pastoral care for adults and children. Some temporary and permanent housing/accommodation are also being provided as needs are determined by SIM, our partners, and local churches in the relief efforts.
