Cotahuasi Christian Radio (91885)

New churches are starting up in the villages of Cotahuasi canyon. But the canyon is some of the most rugged country on earth. The communities are scattered among 17,000 inhabitants, with some only accessible by hiking or horseback. Though SIM and Quechua missionaries travel to these towns to encourage the new believers, they aren't able to regularly visit most of them.

One way to encourage and strengthen the churches in Cotahuasi is through daily radio broadcasts. Bible teaching via FM radio can reach into these communities to teach new believers and reach out to those who have not yet heard about Christ. Additionally, radio teaching will be vital to evangelize and strengthen the church in this area where many people do not read.

Working in Partnership

SIM is working in partnership with HCJB Global and other international radio ministries to establish the first radio station in the Cotahuasi Canyon area. In addition to serving as a vital part of discipleship ministry, the radio will be a blessing to the community by serving the communication needs of the area and by facilitating development in this very poor part of Peru.

You can partner with us to build the station and broadcast messages of hope through the deepest canyon in the world.

Pray

  • for the financial provision to begin the station.
  • for God to guide in the engineering and planning.
  • for safety in the construction work.
  • for the government permits to be granted without problems.
  • for the development of programming in the local Quechua dialect.

Give

Your gift will bring the message of hope to the Cotahuasi canyon. Funds will initially cover engineering, construction, and installation phase. Operational funds will sustain the broadcasts.
