You would have a variety of opportunities to give hope to people at various levels within Mongolian communities. Whether it be working with local officials to discuss forestry management, teaching children and young people about environmental awareness, or even working with a local community to create and manage a vegetable co-op, you could help and provide means for whole communities to support themselves. As a Forestry Management Specialist, your main duties would be to work with local officials and policy makers regarding forestry management. Education is a high priority in this area since resources are limited, and the local government wants to work with local communities so that what is left can be sustained. You can help to develop a simple curriculum and teach environmental awareness in grade schools along with running training seminars for local workers. As an Agriculture Specialist, you would manage an agricultural project and community development work. With teaching credentials and experience, there would even be opportunity to teach agricultural courses at a local university/training school. You could also research, design, and initiate pilot projects. |
