Your Prayers Answered for Namibia Pastors' Book Sets!
12 January 2012
In mid-December 2011, the bookseller offered to let SIM ship the final book (1400 copies of it) and pay later. The manager for the Namibia Pastors’ Book Set project, Calvin Brain, did not want to owe money, and so he graciously declined. However, a week after the bookseller's generous offer, a friend and advocate of the Pastors’ Book Set work approached Calvin saying that he and wife had decided to cover whatever expenses were still unpaid by April 10, 2012. Under these conditions, Calvin accepted the unpaid-for book. (If no other funds had come in, this couple would have had to cover $12,000.) SIM accepted the shipment of books—the ones purchased and the one still not purchased—on January 6. The following day, 25 people helped load the book sets onto the shipping container and on Monday, January 9, the container was delivered to the U.S. port of Baltimore. The Pastors’ Book Sets are on their way!
Calvin has left for Namibia and will be working with the Evangelical Bible Church and other church partners to organizing the distribution and conferences for April. If you would like to cover the cost of one or more Namibian pastors to attend the three-day conference, please contact your nearest SIM office or give online to project 94366. Please begin by praying for these many Christian workers that God would provide for His people. The church makes the most progress when it moves forward on its knees. Thank you and God bless!

December 12, 2011: SIM must transport a shipping container to Namibia by mid-January, yet we still need to purchase 1400 copies of one more book (costing approximately US$22,400) and then ship the container (about $6000) to Namibia. We are grateful to have received about $16,000 towards these expenses, but this is not sufficient to complete the work on schedule. Please pray that the God who intimately knows all of our needs will see fit to provide for the Namibian church at this time. We believe this project has belonged to Christ since its conception, and we look forward to witnessing his provision, for his glory!
