God did a marvelous work in the hearts of Sudanese pastors and their wives at
a recent conference in South Sudan! SIM missionary Debbie Sardo shares,
"This is a culture where husbands and wives do not sit together, do not eat
together, do not talk in public together and the wife always walks behind her
husband." The messages were about biblical marriage and servanthood. "We saw
brokenness and as we watched the Spirit work we saw forgiveness."
"There were so many (at the church) that they spilled outside and stood by the
doors so that they could hear." The conference continued outdoors in the
afternoon under the shade of an immense baobab tree.
An outdoor foot-washing ceremony was a moving experience for the husbands and
wives. "As we sat there, a very strong wind came upon us blowing leaves and
things out of the tree. I believe this was the Holy Spirit showing us he was
present and continuing to speak to the hearts and souls of those there."
PRAISE GOD for what He did at this conference! PRAY for these believers,
that their marriages will be a strong testimony in their communities.
