SIM Launches New Spanish Language Website
21 December 2007

The lead article on the new SIM website for Spanish speakers, “Latinos: Quality for Exportation,” reflects both the increasing number of missionaries coming from Latin America and the affirmation that they have a strategic part to play in the great commission.

Launched this November, the site aims to encourage the Latin American church as it assumes more of a role in world missions. “We want to provide relevant resources and challenging articles for Spanish-speaking Christians,” Chris Conti, SIM's Spanish Communication Coordinator, said.

A team of four Peruvian young ladies, along with Conti, make up the media team that just launched the site. They have also produced a one-issue Spanish language magazine for people considering missions that they hope to print and distribute early in 2008

Eldon Porter, Deputy International Director for the Americas, is excited about this new ministry team and the tool they have produced. “I couldn’t imagine a better situation. The Peruvian ladies working with Chris not only write for us but also represent our target audience,” he said.
