In February and March of 2008, SIM partnered with Friends in Action International (FIA) to drill water wells in nine villages in Gnagna province—Bourgnabiaga, Fuuga, Djamedeni, Tolepsi, Gabondi, Tankimou, Koku, Souloungou, and Ngorjigarie.

Two EE/SIM pastors, Pastor Matourpoa and Pastor Timothée, accompanied the drill team to present the Gospel while the wells were being drilled. God provided amazing results and over 400 men, women, and children gave their hearts to the Lord during that drilling season, and three new churches were planted. God is reaching the Burkinabé people through the gift of clean water!

Seventeen new wells are planned for the next drilling season which will be between February and June in 2010. FIA and SIM are committed to working toward a holistic impact on these villages. They will continue to meet the need for clean water and give churches in the area opportunities to meet the people on a spiritual level.

• for safety in travel as all 17 selected villages will be visited to be surveyed for drilling locations.
• for good dialogue between FIA, SIM Admin., and PEDRS (the EE-SIM development arm) as the well drilling project is brought together on the different levels.
• for God to continue to draw the Burkinabé to himself through this project.
• for the funding to come in so the work can go forward.
