AIDS is stealing the lives of young people in Angola. But twelve dedicated young people trained by HOPE for AIDS are spreading a message of hope and prevention. They serve their classmates by offering a biblical, abstinence-based program in the schools. Utilizing drama, music and games, the peer educators present a seminar in the schools which covers:
- self esteem,
- sexuality,
- HIV & AIDS,
- decision making, and
- communication skills.
In September, a stadium event drew over 300 hundred young people to hear an AIDS educator from Liberia. The program also included music, drama, dance, and skits, which reaffirmed the content presented in the schools.
Please pray:
- thanking God for these dedicated youth
- that many youth would seek a relationship with God as a result of the program
- for God to encourage the peer educators in their work
- for more dynamic Christian young people to serve as peer educators next year.
