Pastors' Book Set Funds Near Half-Way Mark
24 June 2005
An African smiles with his new books
SIM Media visionary Jim Mason reports that the English-language Pastors Book Set project has reached nearly the halfway mark towards the goal of US$1.5 million. Printers are hard at work to produce the selected books; the printer in Sri Lanka will print a million books, and printers in Singapore and the U.S. are producing an additional 140,000.

Similar projects have been held over the past several years in many countries, but this is the largest ever—58 books in each set. With each leader serving an average of about 500, one conference can bless up to 250,000 people. Multiply that by 40 such conferences to be held for English speakers in Ethiopia, Kenya and Zambia during the next two years. Participants will pay $75 US, a large sacrifice for many. Donors, authors and publishers cover the remaining costs. For more information, we invite you to look at these projects: Project ET 92027 (Ethiopia), or ZM 94441 (Zambia).

The Zambia conference in November 2006 will include a women's conference, the first ever in connection with the Pastors Book Set program. Charles Price of Peoples Church, Toronto, will serve as the expository preacher at that conference, and his wife Hilary will lead the conference for women. Soula Isch, of SIM's pastoral team, will also participate. Before becoming the Peoples Church pastor, Charles Price headed the work of Capenwray in the UK.
