New SIMAIR Plane Arrives in Niamey
18 December 2007
In the late afternoon on November 29, the new SIMAIR diesel plane landed in Niamey, Niger. After being overhauled with a new engine and flown across the Atlantic, the valuable ministry tool finally touched down on African soil. About 40 missionaries and Nigerien coworkers met the plane at the SIMAIR hangar, breaking out into cheers and applause as the plane taxied onto the cement pad in front of the hangar. Falke, a long-time Nigerien co-worker in the SIM Niger office, and Steve Schmidt, the SIM Niger area director, gave thanks to God for all he has done to bring this plane to Niger. The new plane will make air travel to remote stations possible because the new engine does not require expensive av-gas. Pray
