A musician from Northern Ghana, Ahmed showed up at a Christian training center demanding an audience with its director. God had been getting his attention in his dreams, and he wanted to know the way of Christ.
Ahmed made a complete change. Leaving behind his religion, knowing it would cost him his family and inheritance, he made a commitment to follow Jesus. He even expressed his desires to be an evangelist using his music. The Christian leaders advised him to stay quiet for a time, knowing his conversion would attract negative attention.
Unfortunately, a radio station got news of his conversion and publicized it in his home town. Ahmed's family and friends were incensed. First he received threats, then a beating. The attackers, a group lead by his father, left him nearly dead.
"I thank God they were not able to kill me," Ahmed said. "And even if they did, I know where I am going. There is no turning back. Pray for me that I would be strong in the Lord and share my faith with others. I will not forsake Christ, since Christ has not forsaken me".
Please pray:
- for the Lord's protection and grace for Ahmed.
- that Ahmed's faith in Christ would be strengthened in these tough times.
- for Ahmed to grow in his knowledge of Christ.
- for wisdom for all of the church leaders helping Ahmed in this situation.
- for God to be honored in Ahmed's life and in this situation.
