The
El Alfarero student centre ministry has reached another important milestone. It has been self-financing since March 2006. On July 30, 2006, the centre celebrated its fifth anniversary, and in the new year, it will be fully run by Bolivian church leaders.
As of January 2007, a team of six Bolivian leaders are taking responsibility for the different areas of the project to carry it forward into the future. These leaders have already had an important role in the ministry and have agreed to an even deeper commitment to El Alfarero.
Founders Graham and Debbie Frith had the vision for a "Dream Team" and began asking people to consider a leadership role. Everyone they asked agreed. They report that "it is really exciting to see how God is putting together a leadership team of committed people to take the project forward." The Friths will support the new leadership team for the next 18 months, but will not be in a decision-making role.
Please pray:
- for the "Dream Team" as they take on their new leadership roles,
- for Graham and Debbie as they transition into a new phase of ministry, and
- for God to continue to bless the student centre and use it to show many young people the love of Christ.
