Hundreds of children came each Saturday for the club. |
|
During the school holidays in July and August, there is a holiday Bible club. It is held in a different village each year and the children in the area and in neighbouring villages are encouraged to attend. This year it was in the village of Andovodava. It is a small village, but children came from miles around to attend the club.
On each of the five consecutive Saturdays there were around 500 children who arrived to play games and hear the Good News of the Gospel. A group of around 30 adults also came, so a programme was arranged for them too. The theme this year was the “I am”s of Jesus. Mr Radesana taught the group of adults and there was a team of church members who taught the children. On the final Saturday, each child received a small booklet containing the five memory verses that they had learned during the holiday Bible club.
It is amazing the number of children who ‘appeared’ in this seemingly remote area. Please pray that they will continue to remember and think about the Bible lessons they heard at the club. The adults have requested that they be able to continue to meet and hear God’s word. What an opportunity!’
Praise God
- for the many children who attended the holiday Bible club this year.
- for the adults who also came and for their enthusiasm and hunger to hear God’s word.
- for Mr Radesana and the church members from Mandritsara who taught God’s word over the summer.
Pray
- that the children who came to the holiday Bible club would place their trust and their lives in Christ.
- for wisdom and guidance as the adults’ request for a regular meeting and Bible teaching is considered.
- for Mr Radesana, in his role as hospital evangelist at Mandritsara and his already busy schedule of visiting, encouraging and teaching in village churches.
for the ongoing work in the villages among both children and adults, and for the planting of churches in remote areas.
