El Alfarero Celebrates Seventh Anniversary
7 October 2008

On August 3, 2008, about 60 people gathered to celebrate God’s faithfulness to the El Alfarero student ministry in Sucre, Bolivia. This student café and ministry center has been transforming lives through its café, counseling services, and boarding house for pregnant girls.

Board members, staff, volunteers, church leaders and other invited guests attended the celebration. Founders Graham and Debbie Frith flew in from their home assignment in the UK to be there.

After some musical worship and presentations from the Bolivian leadership team, Graham and Debbie each shared a message challenging the ministry leaders to continue to rely on God and allow the Holy Spirit to flow through them.

The ministry is expanding, and the Friths have relocated to Santa Cruz, home to another large university. They hope to begin a second Alfarero there. Nearly half of the funds have been raised for this project.

Pray

  • for God’s help in the ongoing struggles of the handing over process in Sucre, and for the Bolivian leaders as they face the challenges.
  • for God's blessing to be poured out on the Sucre project as it ministers to the needs of students.
  • for God to direct the Friths as they search for land in Santa Cruz.
  • for the full financing of the new project.
  • for the Frith family as they settle in Santa Cruz. They have been there for one month now.
