In January, Pastor Alistair Begg, senior pastor of Parkside Church in Chagrin Falls, Ohio and radio host of Truth for Life, spent five days in La Paz, Bolivia with Parkside Church missionaries Kep and Debbie James, and Kathy Maenner, who are serving with SIM in Bolivia. Alistair is an internationally known speaker. Parkside Church is a very significant sending church with SIM USA.

During his visit to La Paz, Alistair preached at the ILC Church (which SIM planted in 1990) on Sunday morning, and he preached at another church downtown La Paz on Sunday night. Then on Monday and Tuesday he preached five times and did two Q&A sessions at a pastor/church leader conference held at the ILC Church. Many of the 150 participants spoke of how the insightful teaching through the book of 2 Timothy refreshed and encouraged them. Many were challenged in their growth toward honoring Christ by being true to the Scriptures, thinking and living Biblically.

It was a lot of fun having him here, and we're hoping that the result will be that Parkside Church will increase the breadth and depth of training and equipping ever-increasing numbers of pastors and church leaders across Latin America in partnership with SIM.
