In Ghana, a building is a symbol. Much like the clerical collar of an ordained pastor, a symbol represents Christ to the people. In the same way, a church building represents Christs presence in a village or town. A church building is a vital part of planting a church in a place where its people find great meaning in symbols.

It seems that both Mormons and Muslims have a good understanding of what it means to have a church building. The Mormons are buying up large tracts of prime land. Mosques are being built in every small town on the main roads to show the presence of Islam. It does not matter that only two or three come to pray at that mosque. The important thing is that a presence is established. The structure of the mosque tells everyone that Islam is present or in the village.

The Bible Church of Africa, SIM's partner church in Ghana is struggling to purchase land for church buildings. Sakamono Good News Bible Church is one congregation praying and asking God to supply their church land. Sakumono is a urban church and land is very expensive. They are seeking the Lord's help to purchase 2 plots of land costing $9,500 each.

Give

Is God calling you to help? Would you be willing to give financially to make Christ's presence known in the suburb of Accra called Sakamono? Thank you for standing with the Ghanaian church.
