My friend and I had been conversing for well over
an hour, each delicately speaking from our
knowledge of the books we hold most dear. He had
just completed the month long fast.
“It is important for a man to do good to outweigh the
sins we commit,” he said, “God holds the scales to
examine us.” We spoke of the absolute
righteousness of God and the sin of man. He spoke
of gaining paradise through following the commands
of Allah. I spoke of the perfect sacrifice in Christ.
He spoke of Jesus the “prophet.” I spoke of Christ,
the Son of God. We each longed to share the most
basic truths of our beliefs.
We are friends. We are both seeking God. He
understands and shares my longing to know God. I
pray he may understand God’s love. Please pray with us that God would continue to open
hearts to seek Himself and open eyes to see the way.
