God is strengthening the Dasaanach church. As they reach out to villages who have not yet heard about Christ, God is answering their prayers. In one journey to an area north of where they live, God worked a miracle to maintain peace in the land.

This village borders the homeland of an "enemy" tribe, and their hosts told them of a recent raid on their cattle by this "enemy." They animatedly told them their plans for a counter attack to retrieve their stolen livestock.

Concerned for the peace and stability of the area, the believers urged their Daasanach brothers to stay put. Instead, they said, "We will pray for all the cattle to be returned to you. Our God is powerful, and He hears the prayers of His children." They asked them to wait a few days to see what God would do. Amazingly, they agreed, and the counter attack was called off.

Can you guess the end of the story? God blessed the Daasanach believers in response to their faith. During the next weeks, all the cattle returned to their owners, and the peace of Daasanach land was maintained. James 5:16b says "The prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective." Please don't stop praying for the Daasanach and for us as we lead them in their faith journey!

• for four Daasanach missionaries who have returned to one of those villages to teach the "Genesis to Jesus" lessons through which they came to trust in Christ;
• for good progress in the Bible translation project;
• for the Holy Spirit to give the church leaders wisdom about to know how much to be involved in cultural traditions.
