Does this couple need an accountant?
3 May 2012
This bride and groom in Yawisla, Bolivia, have had money pinned on to them by family and friends who wish them prosperity and happiness. Eventually those bolivianos will need to be unpinned from their wedding outfits and invested in building a thriving home together. And who knows best how to manage finances than an accountant!
What do you think is the most common skill or profession needed in world missions? Church planters? Evangelists? Doctors? Radio broadcasters? All these are vitally needed, but there are also dozens of professions which may not come to mind when one thinks of missions, and yet missions could not happen without them.
In each of the more than 60 nations where SIM serves, trained and qualified accountants and bookkeepers are needed who can capably steward the financial gifts God gives us. Without this specific expertise, not only would we fail in our accountability to God, but our "front line" ministries would not be free to focus on what they do best.
In addition to finance roles, SIM has administrative and personnel management positions which need to be filled by professionals in order to keep our ministries flourishing. If you or someone you know is trained in accounting, personnel management or administration, then we would love to hear from you! Please contact your nearest SIM office to talk with someone today.
I Corinthians 12: 4-6 says, "There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work."
Thank you for your partnership with SIM. To God be the glory, he is doing great things!Interview with a SIM Treasurer in Nairobi, Kenya: Treasurers Needed
